The WWE RAW Truth Review for 11/5/12

RAW is from England tonight. What does that mean? We are bound to get a bunch of corny English people jokes and some piped in crowd noise. Enjoy!

After recapping the happenings from last Monday, The Miz questioned why a team leader would walk out like Punk did. Miz quit the Survivor Series team.

They Aren't Worth Billions Anymore
Six Man Tag. PTPs and Antonio Cesaro vs Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and R-Truth. Cesaro wanted no part of R-Truth and tagged in Darren Young. Truth hit a bodyslam and tagged in Rey. Rey hit a leg drop. Young tagged in Titus but the faces took turns working him over. Back from commercial, Truth hit a high kick on Young and tagged in Sin Cara. Sin Cara hit a hurricarrana then an armdrag. Cara tagged in Rey and he hurricarranaed Young into the ropes. Cesaro tagged himself in and hit a backbreaker on Rey. O'Neil came in and hit multiple backbreakers on Rey. After the heels worked on Rey some more, Rey made the hot tag to R-Truth. Truth hit a suplex/neckbreaker combo on Cesaro. The faces cleared the ring. Sin Cara hit a hurricarrana on Cesaro, Rey hit a 619 and R-Truth hit the lie detector for the win.

Match Analysis: Not a lot to the match. Too short to amount to anything. Continues a couple of feuds and my guess is that it eventually leads to another 5-on-5 Survivor Series match with all of these guys involved. Just average stuff all around. Survey Says: 2/5

The Return of GTV!
Vickie Guerrero came out and went over all of the "incriminating" evidence against John Cena and A.J. Cena came out. Cena came out and said him being with A.J. is as likely as him learning another wrestling move. Vickie showed camera footage of A.J. walking into a hotel, then Cena in a towel from the same room. Cena said the footage was bogus and was two completely different angles. Vickie wanted A.J. yo come to the ring. A.J. appeared on the big screen. She said she won't come out there because if she will she would attack Vickie and get fired, and be out of a job that she loves to do. Dolph appeared next to her and said that we all know what A.J. loves to do.

Segment Analysis: This is so bad that it is a fun train wreck to watch. If it doesn't end with A.J. sleeping with Dolph, then there really is no point to all of this. Survey Says: 2/5

Wade Barrett agreed to join Team Punk as long as Heyman promised to owe him something. And he wanted that in writing.

Two Short Wrestling Matches In Two Segments!
Cody Rhodes beat Daniel Bryan in a very quick match. Bryan hit a dive to the outside on Sandow. This allowed Rhodes to hit a Disaster Kick and then Cross Rhodes in the ring for a win. After the match, Cody said Sandow could beat Kane just as quickly. Back from break, Kane defeated Damien Sandow. Rhodes and Bryan were tossed from ringside after fighting on the outside.

Segment Analysis: Matches were too short to amount to anything. Glad Rhodes/Bryan only got three minutes while Vickie got longer. Matches just continue the feud between these two teams, that will more than likely get stretched out to TLC. I wish the wrestling on this show was given more time. Could have had two decent ten minute matches instead of two matches in ten minutes. Survey Says: 2/5

Vince Is Now Changing His Mind In The Middle Of Shows
Brad Maddox came out and said that what he did at Hell In A Cell was all his plan. He said all his life he wanted to be a WWE wrestler. He's been to numerous WWE events and even paid $2,000 for a tryout. He said he was finally given a developmental contract, but even there he wasn't good enough. Maddox said his dream only got stronger when WWE officials told him he would never make it to the WWE roster. Maddox said he would do whatever it took. That is why he became a referee. Maddox said all he had to do was one thing to make himself famous. Now, people know who he is everywhere. Maddox said he wants a WWE contract, and a match with Ryback. Vince McMahon came out. He said he believes Maddox didn't do this on his own. He said he would give Maddox a million dollar contract next week if he could beat Ryback.

Vince then brought out Vickie. Vickie agreed with Vince. Vince made Vickie make a Triple Threat Match for Survivor Series, with C.M. Punk defending the WWE Title against Ryback and John Cena.

Segment Analysis: Well, at least you could by all of Maddox's reasons for doing what he did. I'm sure there are actually a lot of guys in WWE development that feel the exact same way. But why are we changing the Survivor Series card already? And why does it have to be a Triple Threat match? Can't this company make up its mind and stick to it? This is turning into a big cluster you know what. Survey Says: 2/5

Miz Quit Team Punk For This?
Sheamus came out for a match against Miz. Sheamus took out Miz for a clothesline. Miz bailed to the outside. Back in the ring, Sheamus hit some elbows for a two count. Miz caught Sheamus with a kick then took down with Sheamus for a clothesline. Sheamus blocked a Miz csuplex attempt and dropped him on the ropes. He hit his rope punches. Both went to the outside and Big Show distracted Sheamus. Miz pushed Sheamus into the announce table then into the ring post. Miz continued to dominate back from break. He tossed Sheamus into the steps. Miz applied a headlock in the ring. Sheamus back dropped Miz out of the headlock. Miz came back with his backbreaker/neckbreaker combo. Sheamus started to fight back. He went to the top rope and hit a shoulder tackle from the top rope. The two exchanged control over the match until Miz charged at Sheamus but walked right into White Noise. Sheamus hot the Brogue Kick for the win.

Match Analysis: Good TV match. Miz looked strong again, but you can only look strong so many times before people just don't care anymore. That is where we are at with Miz. Sheamus picks up another win over a mid carder that I don't know was really needed. But it was a good match. Survey Says: 3/5

Backstage, Vickie came out of Vince's office and told Dolph that he is now the captain of Team Punk. Punk came in and complained about Vince's crazy decisions. Vickie said the main event tonight is Punk and Ziggler vs Ryback and Cena. The heels complained.

Kaitlyn and Layla defeated Eve and Aksana.

FROM OUT OF NOWHERE
Kofi vs Del Rio. Kofi did his normal jumps then hit an elbow for two. Del Rio came back with a couple of kicks. Kofi countered a Del Rio charge with a hurricarrana and a dropkick. Del Rio tossed Kofi over the ropes and to the outside, where Del Rio slammed Kofi into the barricade. Del Rio applied a body lock. Del Rio caught Kofi with a kick then applied an arm lock in the ropes. Del Rio charged at Kofi but Kofi moved and Del Rio went right into the ring post. Kofi hit some of his normal offense then the Boom Drop. Del Rio ducked Trouble in Paradise, Kofi countered out of a cross armbreaker, and Kofi hit the SOS for two. Del Rio took down Kofi, but Randy Orton's music started playing. This allowed Kofi to roll up Del Rio and pick up the win.

After the match Randy Orton came out from likely the crowd and hit an RKO on Del Rio.

Match Analysis: Basic TV match. Didn't have a lot of heat behind it. Kofi continues to pick up wins, but they won't mean anything unless they actually do something with him. Orton looks strong heading into his match tomorrow with Del Rio. Just more storyline continuation. Survey Says: 2/5

Santino and Zack Ryder defeated Primo and Epico.

Wade Barrett defeated Brodus Clay. Another short match with not much to it.

Heath Slater defeated Jey Uso. Keep telling yourself the third hour is necessary, WWE.

Ryback Is A Five Star Wrestler When It Comes To Standing On The Apron
C.M. Punk came out for the main event. Punk said at Survivor Series, Vince McMahon is continuing his tradition of screwing his most talented performer. Punk said for 351 days, he has proven that he is better than anyone in the WWE and the world. Punk promised to celebrate 364 days as Champion after Survivor Series and back up the fact that he is the Best in the World.

Cena and Punk started the match. Cena locked in a headlock then took down Punk with a shoulder tackle. Punk tagged in Ziggler. Cena hit a running bulldog and Ziggler quickly tagged in Punk. Punk ducked a charging Cena and he went into the turnbuckle. The heels went to work on Cena. Ziggler hit multiple elbows. Punk tried going for a GTS but Cena fought out. Punk caught Cena with a kick to the head for two. Cena fought out of a headlock and countered right into an Attitude Adjustment. Punk tagged Ziggler who prevented Cena from making the tag. The heels went back to work on Cena. Cena fought out of a scissors lock with an electric chair drop. The heels regained control but Cena eventually made the tag to Ryback as Ziggler tagged in Punk. Ryback press slammed Ziggler onto Punk then tossed Ziggler to the outside. Ryback hit his clothesline then Shell Shocked for the win. Ryback and Punk stared each other down as the show ended.

Match Analysis: It was smart of the WWE to keep Ryback out of the ring the whole match then have him tagged in at the end for the hot tag. They tried to tease tension between Cena and Ryback at the end. Match was the basic TV tag with the heels dominating until the face makes the hot tag. Survivor Series is a big jumbled mess right now and this tag match did nothing to help matters. Survey Says: 2.5/5

OVERALL
Just another bad episode of RAW made even worse by the booking heading into Survivor Series. Why are we changing things around? A match built around tension between Punk and Foley is all of the sudden a throw away 5-on-5 match? Why would Foley care about the match now? And why didn't the WWE just go this route in the beginning and maybe have Foley be the special guest referee? And again, most of this RAW showed that the third hour is not necessary. There were three throwaway matches in the second hour. The Sheamus/Miz match was good. And that was about it. I'm giving the show a lowly 1.

Until Next Time,
